Salta – Argentina

February 2 to February 4, 2012     Our final day in Argentina is spent exploring the Quebrada de Cafayate, the basin between two sections of the Andes. Erosion over the centuries has created some of the most amazing landscapes. Celebrating the end of the year at the end of the world

December 22, 2011 to January 1, 2012 Christmas is a hard time to be away from home. Family and friends are always important to us but at this time of the year we feel the separation even more.  We are blessed to have been able to spend this festive season with our good friends Bernd & Heidi who we met in Iran in 2003. El Chalten – Argentina

El Chalten – November 28 & 29, 2011 We decide to back track and visit El Chalten and the mighty Mt Fitz Roy. We’d spoken to many people who had spent days in this tiny town in the northern end of the Los Glaciers National Park and only glimpsed the mountain as the clouds drifted in and out. It’s a blustery ride – so what’s new. As we pass the lake on the outskirts of El Calafete we see more icebergs. We aren’t bored with the sight.     As …
