We have a travelling companion for this journey – Ken the Koala.
He’s not to be confused with the koala who has travelled everywhere with us on the motorcycle. Brenda has been from London to Australia overland and was rescued when our 1150 met its maker. She is battered and bruised. Her ears have been superglued back together. She’s missing quite a bit of fur and has to be cable-tied to the bike to avoid being koalanapped. Brenda is old enough to be Ken’s grandmother and is teaching him the ropes of extreme travel.

He will appear here periodically. Keep an eye out for him.
Ken is a keen supporter of the Port Macquarie Hospital. He’d like you to check out their website and consider helping this worthy cause that cares for injured koalas on the NSW north coast.
We met during the afternoon tour of the wineries and olive factory in Mendoza. I was the British guy among a very international bunch of people on the bus.
It’s really great to see where you have been since then in Argentina and Chile and I recognize some of your pictures from Puerto Natales & Torres de Peine.
Since we met in Mendoza I travelled on by bus up to Salta and the Calchaqui Valley and then across to Iguazu Falls, an amazing natural spectacle on the border with Brazil and then 3 more days in Buenos Aires & home to Bath. Really enjoyed it. Now looking out at grey skies and stormy weather – well, this is England in winter!
I’ll keep track of your journey and wish both you guys a very safe trip and many enjoyable experiences along the way.
Happy Christmas & a great New Year wherever that may be.
Buen viaje! Very best wishes, Stuart

There is no doubt that some people think we are crazy. There are also those out there who are more than a little envious of our lifestyle. We’ve always want to live our lives with as few ‘if-onlys’ as possible. We didn’t want to sit back in our dotage and wish we’d done the big trip and regretted not doing it. There may be no tomorrow so you have to live life to its fullest.
