Horizons unlimited – the travellers handbook

San Pedro de Atacama – Chile

February 4 to February 7, 2012 The journey to get to San Pedro de Atacama was one of the most amazing and difficult rides we’ve had on this trip.     We left  Salta early and headed towards the border with Chile. Salta – Argentina

February 2 to February 4, 2012     Our final day in Argentina is spent exploring the Quebrada de Cafayate, the basin between two sections of the Andes. Erosion over the centuries has created some of the most amazing landscapes. The minerals in the soil, the movement under the earth, the water and the wind have littered this area with landforms that people come from miles to see.
